What is a healthy diet?
Most people would agree that the closer to the source you come the more nutrients food will contain. Some even say that the more you cook and prepare a food the more of its nutrients will be lost. There has been research confirming this but also the opposite. Some food is very dificult for the body to digest and some light cooking can make it more attainable. This is an ongoing discussion between the raw foodists and others. When starting to eat healthier, the first thing you should do is to look at what you eat every day. We often forget what we put in our mouths and don't understand why we feel tired or ill. Start by writing down everything you put in your mouth in a day and you will be surprised.
To choose the right food and the right amounts are the basis of a healthy diet. Allergies and food sensitivities can be helped by eating what is right for you.
